Involved in litter picks as an individual or do you organise events for lots of volunteers?
Ever wanted to help recycle more of the materials you collect each time?
New from the only UK Charity that is dedicated to recovering and recycling more aquatic plastics are the ReAP UK Duo litter pick bags now available through us at the ANLRS as we co-funded the design and manufacture of these with the charity that we already work so closely with.
These bags have been custom made to create a two compartment bag that can be used to separate recyclable materials from general waste as you go about your amazing work. One compartment is labelled 'Plastics' whilst the other side is 'General'. All you need to do is tell the volunteers what can be placed in each side as they go about their pick. They sort as they go so this reduces time at the end of the day as a quick check through can pick out items that have ended up in the wring side or not being recycled that day.
Recent trials on various beach cleans in Sussex has seen over 80% of all waste collected being recycled which is amazing and even higher than many local authority recycling centres! Does all of that collected on a beach or litter pick really need to go to landfill or incineration when with a little effort means so much can be recycled.
